Times have changed--if you're a Malaysian Muslim man, you can now divorce your wife via a text message! You may remember that in 2001 a story came out stating that divorce by SMS was wrong. bq. "Hamid Othman, adviser to Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, said divorce via SMS or short messaging service was in accordance with sharia law if it was clear and unambiguous." This may seem a little over the top, but according to the same article, Muslim men can divorce their wives by stating "I divorce you" three times. The story didn't state if the text message had to be sent three times... Textually has more on the topic.
