DoCoMo to introduce slimmest handset in 505i series

NTT DoCoMo announced today that it will start marketing the P505i on August 8. At a scant 19.9 mm closed, the new clamshell model is the slimmest in the 505i series.

Even though its thin doesn't mean it lacks features:

• Both an inner and outer CCD camera (capture stills as well as video)
• Macromedia Flash browser
• Downloadable Java applications
• Massive 240 x 320 pixel 65,536 color TFT LCD

Despite the focus on multimedia, the P505i is 2G along with the rest of the 505i series. Maximum data transmission speed is 28,800 bps down and 9,600 bps up.

It will be available for purchase from August 8th on at normal distrobution centers throughout Japan. The cost is unfixed.
