VI660.jpgSprint PCS has introduced its latest phone, the Samsung VI660. The phone is said to be the first with "Voice-Activated Status Updates" built-in. Users can use a keyword to hear the status signal strength and battery. Although highly touted, this feature doesn't seem all that handy. Another similar feature sounds more useful--Voice-Activated Phonebook or VAP. This technology lets you dial any contact in your phonebook with your voice without any prior training. Most voice-activation systems work by training your phone to recognize what you sound like for each contact that you want to voice dial. If VAP works well, it will be a huge time saver. You may also speak any phone number one digit at a time to place a call. Other notable features and giured are as follows: * 65,000-color, Super Twisted Nematic (STN) screen * 3.3" x 1.8" x .87" * 3.17 ounces with battery * Works with the Samsung Game Pad * PCS Vision ready The Samsung VI660 is available today at Sprint PCS stores nationwide, and on the web. With a 2-year contract, the price is $79.99.
