Cingular today announced that it has completed the purchase of NextWave's 34 PCS licenses. The deal was worth $1.4 billion in cashh, which was what we reported back in August 2004 when the rumors were flying. The spectrum covers about 83 million potential customers, though it's mostly in areas where Cingular already offers service. However, a few new cities will pop onto the service map: * Portland, OR * Salt Lake City, UT * El Paso, TX * Manchester, NH * Hagerstown, MD * Salisbury, MD * and Kankakee, IL.
