Verizon Wireless today announced a deal with Yahoo! to bring its instant messaging application to Verizon Wireless subscribers. bq. Starting today, Verizon Wireless customers can use their wireless phones to access their pre-existing IM accounts with Yahoo! Messenger to send and receive instant messages. However, the service is only available to owners of the LG VX6000 (to download: go to the Get It Now virtual store under What's New and then under the getMESSAGING shopping aisle). It should be out on newer models soon. Incoming and outgoing IMs will be charged as text messages (2 cents to receive, 10 cents to send). If you purchase text messages in blocks, the discounts still apply.
