Verizon Wireless today completed its purchase of 10 MHz in the 1.9 GHz PCS frequency range over New York City. According to the company, the license will be used to expand Verizon Wireless' network capacity to meet customers' growing demand for voice and data services. Verizon Wireless paid $930 million for the license that was auctioned off by NextWave. The deal was first announced back in July. Verizon Wireless is said to be in talks for around 20 more NextWave licenses totalling $3 billion.
