The Associated Press is reporting that Verizon Wireless will tomorrow make an announcement concerning mobile audio and video: bq. With the mammoth International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas as a backdrop, Verizon Wireless planned Friday to detail a robust new service for mobile phones, one that promises better-quality audio and video -- albeit custom-designed for the numerous constraints of a handheld device. Tomorrow is also expected to bring an announcement from Verizon Wireless about more cities becoming part of the BroadbandAccess EV-DO network. Because of the EV-DO network, Verizon Wireless' video service could be a step ahead of the competition. Robert Kim of EV-DO Coverage told MobileTracker that he has confirmed Broadband Access is now active in at least: San Francisco, Phoenix, New Orleans, Dallas and Houston.
