T-Mobile USA penetrated by hacker

T-Mobile USA found itself a victim of data theft--serious data theft. Among the data taken from T-Mobile's servers:

• US Secret Service e-mail
• Customers' passwords and Social Security numbers
• Photos taken by Sidekick users, including photos from many celebrities

T-Mobile has known of the problem since July 2003. The attacker was charged in October 2003.

Update: T-Mobile has issued a statement that the company has notified all 400 customers that had their data stolen.
