Mobiles make splash at Superbowl

Both Verizon Wireless and Alltel spent big money to promote products during Sunday's Superbowl XXXIX. Alltel used veteran NFL broadcaster Pat Summerall to host a contest where one person was awarded one million dollars. Russell Royal of Lynchburg, Virgina was the winner: bq. Royal, who sent his first-ever text message to enter the sweepstakes, said he planned to use the money to care for his wife and three grandsons as well to tithe to his church. The contest was co-sponsored by Motorola. Verizon Wireless had a 30-second ad spot to promote VCAST. The ad featured many celebrities and can be viewed here
