Clear Channel Communications intends to begin offering some of its radio programs to cell phones this year. Clear Channel is the largest owner of radio stations in the US. bq. The San Antonio, Texas, company said it plans to let U.S. cell phone users download or access originally produced radio programs as early as the end of this year. The company took a massive $4.9 billion charge on its earnings statement in the fourth quarter last year due to a devaluation of its radio license holdings. Thanks to the internet, broadcast radio spectrum isn't seen as valuable as it once was.
