Intellisync today announced a new hosted push email service called Wireless Email Express that is being marketed as a BlackBerry alternative. Intellisync Express is a completely hosted service sold as a subscription through distributors (Ingram Micro), resellers and directly by Intellisync. It's currently priced at introductory rate of $120 per year. According to Intellisync, Wireless Email Express will work with many existing mobile phones. Phones that run the following operating systems should be compatible: * Symbian UIQ 7 * Windows Mobile 2003 * Palm 3.5 and newer This makes Wireless Email Express compatible with phones like the Treo 650, Sony Ericsson P910i, Motorola MPx220 and HP 6315. For phones without one of the operating systems above, the Wireless Email Express also supports the syncing standard SyncML. It only works with contacts and calendar data, but for phones such as the Nokia 6600 and Sony Ericsson S700i, it's better than nothing. According to Intellisync, little or no IT experience is needed to set the software up which makes it usable outside of a corporate environment. Allow 30 minutes for setup.
