Verizon Wireless put together deals with three of the largest laptop makers to build-in EV-DO technology to use its BroadbandAccess network. So far today Dell, Lenovo (maker of the ThinkPad) and HP have announced upcoming models with BroadbandAccess. Unlimited EV-DO access costs $79.99 monthly though there is a $20/month discount for voice subscribers.
Verizon Wireless is rapidly expanding the EV-DO network and is currently far ahead of Sprint in total network size, though subscriber data for either company is unavailable. But with these announcements today, Sprint has some major catching up to do.
This isn't the first time laptops have shipped with cellular technology, Sony a VAIO laptop earlier this year that had EDGE data built-in.
I agree that building it in just for Verizon's network isn't smart. But I also think building it in isn't smart in general--what happens when EV-DO Rev b kicks in? These laptops won't begin shipping until next year and people normally keep the things for a few years, so you could be stuck with an EV-DO laptop in 2008.
Wow. Those are some big names. But like the other commenters I don't really think building it in is that great. Would WiFi have caught on if your laptop could only access T-Mobile HotSpot? Nope. It has to be brand neutral.
I want details (All Features & price in Sri Lanka) about LENOVO 660 phone.
EV-DO is a standard. Presumably these manufacturers are including wireless chipsets that will work with other vendor's networks. For example, Sprint-Nextel has an EV-DO wireless access network. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EVDO
Will it be some thing like thie that Kyocera Corp has or is it another device put onboard the Mother board.
The Kyocera's Passport seems to be pretty good.

Can you help me to get information, please?
I need contacts or information about CDMA2000x1 EV-DO card vendors outside Russia. Such as Sierra, GTRAN. Historical, in Russia CDMA bands 450MHz and it's a problem find card to this case.
If it's not so difficult for you send me information via e-mail.
My e-mail on our site.
Wow this would be really neat, but too bad it will be tied to Verizon Wireless. Right now they have the best service, but maybe in a few years Sprint will have the edge.
Since there will be no card to buy, will there be a discount of a few hundred dollars?
