Research In Motion and Palm today announced that BlackBerry Connect will become available for the Treo 650. This will allow Treo 650 users to enjoy the popular BlackBerry push email service (though a BlackBerry Enterprise Server is required). While most of Research In Motion's BlackBerry customers use a RIM device, the licensing program is expected to become a greator portion of revenue as it begins to ship on more devices. RIM already announced a deal to bring BlackBerry Connect to select Nokia handsets.
The new software is expected to start shipping from carriers starting early next year.
This was supposed to happen.... 2 years ago with the introduction of the Treo 600! Im not impressed. Everything that can be done by a Blackberry can be done with an IMAP server and Chatter for the T650. For a lot less money. Took too long to get to market, but all the corporate types will still jump on it Im sure as they've already sank $ into RIMs devices in the first place without doing the neccessary research.
