Theater owners gunning for jammers

Movie theater owners want the ability to jam cell phones according to a report from Retuers. The technology has been around for some time, but is currently illegal. There are safety and liability concerns (possible communications gap during a crisis, etc) but the owners believe it will pump up business.

The National Association of Theater Owners is getting in on the action:

John Fithian, the president of the trade organization, told the Los Angeles Times theater owners "have to block rude behavior" as the industry tries to come up with ways to bring people back to the cinemas.
