Sprint Nextel today received approval from the Federal Trade Commission for the proposed buyout of Alamosa Holdings. The $4.3 billion deal will close in the first quarter of next year.
Alamosa is a Sprint PCS affiliate serving 1.5 million customers in 19 states. Sprint Nextel has been busy buying up affiliates lately with a total of five recent deals.
