I've been waiting for this phone since October '05. Loved my P910i but am highly anticipating the Wi-Fi service on the P990...

Am not entirely sure about the qwerty keyboard. I removed the flip from the 910, although with the internet being more readily available on the 990, a slightly more accessible keypad might not be such a bad thing. 80MB on-board memory seems a little short sighted considering they can whack 470mb in to the W900.

Still. I eagerly await the new phone. Pretty sad really... but some people like plants I guess.

I am a mac user. I will pay a considerable premium to get a 3g smartphone that will sync nicely with my computers- please come up with the goods SE

although my P910i so far is the best smartphone i have had since i had the R380 worldphone. the only let down with the p910i was the slow response between programs and the really bodgy camera quality and features. on the other hand, the P990i looks like its solved all of those problems plus added Wi-FI, oh yeah baby sign me up. only one problem so far though, i use my P910i without the flip, i have not seen the P990i without the flip, does this suggest there is no option to take the flip off? i really wanna know, no flip means i am a buyer, with the flip i will baulk!!

almost given up hope on 990i... looks like it is not going to be launch.....delays after delays... and after launch probably got problem since they took so much time just to get it to launch....

agree... totally.... no point having the best smartphone in the world but also all the problems that goes with it.... what's worst is that we dont even have the phone to start....

why place a keyboard underneath a keyboard????
i love my P910i because of its sparkling wide lcd display. point lost there. i just wish they just upgraded the cam to 2mp.

Is the SE990i on sale in the US?

Guys..Gals..the SE P990i is finally launched here in Dubai.There was an advertisement in the papers yesterday that the leading retail outlets here are taking pre-orders for the phone.So me went and got myself a pre-order coupon(its a plastic card with the pre-order number given in a snazzy leather card holder with embozzed SE).Really cool and waiting for the delivery of the phone by 15th of August.The pre-order coupon cost me AED 500 (USD 136) and the price of the phone here is AED 2,795 (USD 760).They will reduce the advance from the cost of the phone.They are launching in small numbers.So finally after all the waiting i will be one of the first people to get the phone here in Dubai...hmmmmm...really good feeling.

Quick Q about SE990i - do all phones come with a flip, but an option to remove after, or are the phones sold either - with or without flip?!!

hi,'they have launched the handsets in some european countries like sweden and Uk.... there its availble for a very high cost around 5oo pounds... prices will come down in a few weeks time....
mean while htc has launched htc tytn and this according to reviews is a challenge if not better than the much awaited p990.....
SE has made a mistake of releasing this phone very late what ever the issues may be...
Still i would like to have my hands on one of them when it will be released in india...
but if htc becomes available i might go in for that

i called up one of the SE dealers in chandigarh and found that it might come to their stores in a week or two...

but as it is already released in europe i think it willsoon become available in india too....

Finally P990i has been launched in the UK - Vodafone. Yay! It is sold with flip but can easily be removed ( which actually looks much better )

Just ordered mine looking forward to recieving it in the next couple of days fancy having to wait for over a year for a phone.
