T-Mobile USA and Cingular Wireless have temporarily pulled the Motorola RAZR V3 from sales channels. MobileTracker confirmed the move with T-Mobile though a company spokesperson noted in a telephone call that the popular model is expected to begin shipping again soon, possibly next week.
According to T-Mobile, there was a component issue with a limited number of GSM RAZR handsets purchased by carriers after February 1st. Motorola noted to MobileTracker this afternoon that the issue is related to affected handsets dropping calls and then having the screen go white and reboot. Customers with handsets that are affected should contact their carrier to facilitate an exchange.
At this time the RAZR is still listed on Cingular's online storefront but is marked as out of stock. T-Mobile's store does not show the RAZR at all.
[thanks Brian!]
I am probably out of luck. I bought my RAZR off one of those promotion windows and it routed me to Wirefly.com My phone too is going white screen but since I didn't buy it from Cingular I am SOL. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. Thanks!
I have one of the defective razrs. So if I go trade it in tomorrow, they will give me a v557? What if I don't want one of them to be a replacement, can I have something else?
When will I be able to get a new phone, (probably a new razr) because I don't want to have to get a completely different model and stick with it just because moto messed up!
I was told by a reliable source that Cingular knew about the defect but ignored it.

yeah i have a problem with my razor phone theres a loud noise on the keypad only when the blue light is on. does anyone else have this problem?
I had to return my razr because it had a problem with the audio. When I would talk to someone, I'd get this whizzing sound in the background. Sometimes it was so distracting the person on the other end asked, 'is there a car screaching around a corner or something?' I said, 'NO, it's the razr phone.'
I returned it per the advice of a t-mobile rep that said lots of her Customer service calls were for defective razr phones. Fortunately, the replacement phone doesn't have this loud, whizzing noise. It is hard to figure out speed-dial on it though. It's alright. But wouldn't recommend it. There are still many defects out there, which is why it is so cheap.
Bought the Razr last week. Couldn't hear on it. Got Blue Tooth. Can't hear on that. Got a regular ear piece. It is muffled and hard to understand the person. I am very P.O. about this.
I Just got off the phone with Cingular Wireless, they confirmed a problem with the Motorola Razor and noted my account. I was told to go to the Cingular store where I bought my razor and ask to be placed on the “Razor Priority List.” Once they get the replacement Razors in they’ll notify me. I was also told a temporary loner phone was available (The Motorola V557) till the new phones arrive in the store.
Hope this helps…
