So much for the rumors of VeriSign getting out of the mobile business, today the company announced an acquisition of m-Cube for $250 million. According to reports, Motricity was competing with VeriSign over the purchase.

m-Cube facilitates mobile billing for companies through premium SMS. It racked up $84 million in revenue last year and has companies like CBS, Major League Baseball and Virgin Mobile as customers.

I was billed 4 times on my verizon bill $9.99 apr. may june and july before I called verizon to block all other billing from m-cube. I verizon employee looked up whom the billing party was. I receive on e message during these months from supposedly this group which them I replyed to STOP but billing continued. I want to make sure I can get a hold of the right grpou to REfund me for there poor business practice and theft.

this company prey on the cell phone clientel, like myself, who try and buy a ringtone from their handset, and then end up with an unwanted subcription, annoying sms's from total strangers, and cell phone companies who will not take any responsibility. As a comsumer, I feel completley helpless, and a bit angry, too.
I see a class action suit in the future of M-Cube.

i was definitely billed $52.00 for this, and i don't even know what it is. it's more than a little frustrating.

To those who have recently posted comments: go to www.m-qube.com and click on customer support. That will take you to a screen where you can request to stop service/billing on your cell phone bill. The Verizon people keep telling me "m-cube" and it is really "m-qube". I hope this works as I am sick and tired on being billed for this over the last few months. I live in NY and am considering contacting the Attorney General's office claiming fraud!
