samsung jitterbugCTIA 2006 -- GreatCall is a new MVNO that will cater its services primarily to older users that want simple voice service. Several carriers are targeting young people, but this is the first to make seniors its focus. At launch the carrier will be selling the Samsung Jitterbug, a handset line designed for ease of use. Besides simple handsets, GreatCall will offer a 24-hour operator assistance service.

There are two models of the Jitterbug, Dial (shown at right) and OneTouch. Dial looks more like a conventional mobile phone, albeit with larger than average buttons. OneTouch doesn't offer number keys and is more like the kid-themed handsets Firefly and Migo.

GreatCall will begin selling the Jitterbug in the fall. No word on pricing.
