Cingular subscribers can tune into Rolling Stones

Jul 28 2006 - 12:25 PM ET | Cingular

Cingular subscribers have the ability to tune in live to a Rolling Stones concert taking place in Paris later this afternoon. A startup named Listen Live Now is using the performance (which starts at 3PM ET) to launch its live pay-for-play tech. $1.99 will net 7 minutes of the live show. There are no downloads required, audio is delivered through a phone call that you receive from Listen Live Now.

Business Week reports:

The clarity depends, in part, on the quality of your phone's speakers. But the call isn't to some Stones groupie holding up a phone from the bleachers. This connection goes straight to the band's mixing board.

Look for the same tech to be used for other concerts and events in the new future. To catch some of the Stones, dial #106 and hit send.
