Cingular launches Samsung ZX20

Samsung zx20Cingular has launched its second HSDPA capable handset, the Samsung ZX20. We first saw this handset at CES. Cingular began shipping its first HSDPA handset, LG's CU500, back in July. The ZX20 is an an update to the ZX10, adding both the aforementioned HSDPA and Bluetooth. HSDPA is a 3G data transmission technology that speeds by UMTS and is approximately comparable speed wise to EV-DO.

Features of the Samsung ZX20 include:

  • GSM 850/900/1800/1900 + WCDMA 850/1900
  • HSDPA 1.8 high-speed data plus class 10 EDGE
  • 176×220 screen with 262k colors
  • 40MB memory built-in, plus microSD card slot
  • Bluetooth
  • 1 megapixel camera

Cingular is selling the ZX10 based on location, it's not available in non-3G markets. After online discounts the phone sells for $199.99. In comparison, the LG CU500 currently lists for $79.99 after all discounts.
