CTIA IT 2006 -- Sprint has announced Power View, a made-for-mobile sports network exclusive to Sprint. The content will be made available to both Vision and Power Vision subscribers at no additional cost. At launch there are no commercial sponsors, but it's something that's likely to be added in the future.

Sprint Power View shows are refreshed several times per day, seven days per week and will originate from the Sprint Power View desk located in New York in partnership with IMG Media, the global leader in delivery of traditional and new-media content. In addition to the main Sprint Power View desk, 15 mobile camera crews will file on-location stories from venues and events from major markets in the United States. mSpot, a mobile multimedia entertainment company, will provide a free Java multimedia application and manage the ongoing operations of Sprint Power View.

Sprint will leverage its exclusive sponsorship of the NFL in its programming, with several of its shows dedicated to football. Sprint says the schedule will continue to expand over the next few weeks. The content can be viewed through a Java application (text "Power" to 7777 for a link) or on channels 33 and 35 on Sprint TV.
