Full Review

Mid-Range Done Properly

Samsung has put genuine effort into the A55’s design. The aluminium frame and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ front glass feel more expensive than the price suggests. IP67 water resistance is a rarity at this price point and genuinely useful.

Display Highlight

The 6.4-inch Super AMOLED at 120Hz is the A55’s standout feature. Colours are punchy, blacks are deep, and outdoor visibility is solid. It matches displays on phones costing twice as much.

Where It Falls Short

The Exynos 1480 is capable but shows its mid-range nature in demanding games and sustained workloads. Camera processing tends to over-sharpen and over-saturate, which looks eye-catching on screen but loses natural detail. Raw shots are more faithful but require manual mode knowledge.

Verdict

7.8
The Galaxy A55 is the best mid-range Samsung offers - a beautiful display and great battery life in a surprisingly premium-looking body. Processor performance is adequate rather than exciting.
