Handspring loses less, Treo 600 brightens forecast

Oct 09 2003 - 05:32 PM ET | Handspring
Even though Handspring [HAND] is in the process of being gobbled up by PalmOne, they today released Q1 earnings. It's likely the last such announcement from the company as the deal with PalmOne looks to be coming to a close. For the quarter ending on September 27th, Handspring lost $13.9 million. That's down from $15.3 million for Q1 last year. The outlook is good though, due to the super-popular Treo 600 which began shipping late in the quarter. Sales are expected to be brisk throughout the end of the year.
