Motorola debuts A1000, a 3G handset

As part of a rash of announcements [see 1, 2], Motorola has announced its newest 3G handset--the A1000. The phone attempts to meld raw power with sex appeal.

• Video conferencing capabilities
• Word, Excel, Powerpoint and PDF document viewing capabilities
• 1.2 mega pixel digital camera with 4x digital zoom
• Capture and playback with MPEG4 and MP3 files and dual-audio speakers
• VPN access
• Tri-band

Look for the Motorola A1000 in Q4 of this year. Pricing is unknown.
