SH506iC i-mode Smart-Card handset

NTT DoCoMo today announced that it will market the SH506iC, its second FeliCa mobile wallet compatible handset. The technology has seen several high profile media reports lately. For those not familiar:

DoCoMo's revolutionary new service and smart-card handsets may be used for a variety of unprecedented functions that were previously possible only with IC-equipped cards, including train travel, debit card (electronic money) and credit card-based withdrawals and transactions, and personal identification.

Here are the features:

• A two-axis "Rotatable LCD Style" design
• 2 megapixel digital camera
• Document viewer to open Microsoft Office documents and PDFs
• miniSD card slot
• Main display: 2.2 inches (320 x 240); 262,144 colors; QVGA; TFT
• Sub display: 0.6 inches (12 x 72 dots); STN monochrome
