T-mobile to launch Windows smartphone in Europe, USA

Sep 09 2004 - 02:48 PM ET | Smartphone, T-Mobile

T-Mobile is set to launch the Smart Digital Assistant (SDA)--its first Windows powered smartphone in Europe. Priced at 100 Euros with a new activation, it's on the lower end of smartphone prices. Features of the SDA include:

  • VGA amera
  • Bluetooth
  • 65,000-color screen
  • miniSD card slot
  • Windows Mobile software -- calendar, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and Outlook e-mail syncing

Look for it in Germany starting next month and then later on in other European countries. The SDA should make it to the US, but a timeline has not been announced. We expect that T-Mobile USA will take some time to promote the BlackBerry 7100t before launching another smartphone in the US market.
