Audiovox 8940 announced [CTIA IT 04]

Audiovox today announced the CDM-8940, the first phone from the company to ship with EV-DO high-speed data. Features of the 8940 include:

• Two 260K color TFT displays (internal/external)
• MiniSD memory card slot
• 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording
• BREW or Java, depending on carrier

Likely carriers are Sprint PCS and Verizon Wireless. Verizon Wireless' EV-Do data network is being marketed as BroadbandAccess and is currently available in several cities.
