UTStarcom 8940 launched by Verizon Wireless
As expected, Verizon Wireless has announced that it is now shipping the
UTStarcom 8940 (formally Audiovox 8940). The 8940 is an EV-DO ready handset that will work on the upcoming
VCAST service. Verizon VCAST goes live on February 1st 2005.
Features of the UTStarcom 8940 include:
* 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording
* Mini-SD slot
* 2-inch, 262K color main screen
The UTStarcom CDM8940 is available for $229.99 after a $70 rebate with a two-year service contract.
