USA Today's Life section Snapshot focuses on mobile communication technology today:

Percentage of people in the USA who have used wireless devices (cellphones, laptops or PDAs) to access the Internet, send e-mail or text messages while:

  • 22% - In the drive-through lane
  • 19% - Eating in a restaurant
  • 17% - Waiting in line
  • 15% - In a restroom
  • 8% - On a date
  • 3% - In a sauna, hot tub or bath

Note that the survey question did not include phone calls, only data services. The survey was performed by Harris Interactive and funded by T-Mobile.
