Version 4 of
Xingtone, the mobile phone ringtone creation software, has been announced. The most popular new feature will be
a way to get around Verizon Wireless' "closed network" (Verizon forces users to purchase ringtones through their store). The work-around is sending the tone as a picture message.
Xingtone lets you create ringtones from audio files on your computer: MP3, WMA, or OGG Vorbis. You can purchase it online for $20.
