Boost Mobile hits 1M mark

Dec 07 2004 - 09:47 AM ET | MVNO, Nextel
Boost Mobile, a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) based on the Nextel network, announced today that the company now has over 1 million customers. The company is marketing towards youth, a demographic that is not typically on Nextel (because of the cost). But since Boost Mobile is pay-as-you-go, it is no more expensive than any other PAYG. Here's the pricing: * A flat rate of 25 cents per minute 24 hours a day, seven days a week (long distance calling and roaming included). * Push-to-talk costs $1.50 a day for unlimited national use * SMS is 10 cents per message sent * Unlimited web access for $.20 a day (charged when you use it)
