MMCmicro, new MMC card from Samsung

Samsung today announced the MMCmicro, a new low-power MMC card that is 1/3 the size of today's MMC cards. The MMCmicro is only 12x14x1.1mm or slightly smaller than TransFlash, a mini memory format Motorola has been backing lately.
Initially, the cards will be sold in 32, 64 and 128 megabyte sizes. Mass production will begin in early 2005. There is no word if Samsung with allow other cell phone makers to use the format--or even if other makers would be willing to use the format.
