S710a approved by FCC

Dec 14 2004 - 10:01 PM ET | Cingular, Sony Ericsson
The Sony Ericsson S710a was yesterday officially approved by the FCC. The phone is a Cingular exlusive that was slated to ship this month. Features of the S710a include: * 2.3 inch 262K color TFT display * EDGE high-speed data * MemoryStick Duo card slot * 1.3 megapixel digital camera, 8x digital zoom Photos from the FCC's tests with the Sony Ericsson S710a clearly show a Cingular branded device. It's possible that the FCC approval was the last step and the S710a will begin shipping shortly, but we've also heard that it may be January until the device ships. Cingular will charge $399 for the S710a with a new activation. Click on image at right to zoom.
