Fred Durst's T-Mobile account hacked

Feb 25 2005 - 12:21 PM ET | Security, T-Mobile
Update: T-Mobile has contacted MobileTracker to let us know that Fred Durst is not a T-Mobile customer. It would appear this release used the T-Mobile name to gain extra publicity. Fred Durst's T-Mobile account fell victim to the same attacker as Paris Hilton's according to reports spreading accross the internet. Instead of celebrity phone numbers and photos, Fred Durst's account contained a three minute hardcore pornographic video showing Mr. Durst and an unidentified woman engadging in unprotected sex. The video is watermarked with a graphic containing the text "T-Mobile Terorrist." Fred Durst is best known for being the frontman of Limp Bizkit. Paris Hilton's account was accessed by an easy to guess security question, it's not clear if the same method was used to access Mr. Durst's account. The Sidekick cannot take videos, so it is not clear exactly how the video was obtained. The same social engineering message appeared on the originating website.
