After announcing a $450 million settlement with Research In Motion this morning, patent holding firm NTP is now looking to other mobile device makers for license fees: bq. James Wallace [NTP lawyer] said NTP's patents would likely be needed by most firms that provide "push-based" e-mail service, which automatically forwards e-mail to an individual's wireless device. He said the companies NTP is talking with specialize in "handsets or systems. These will be names that you know". Both Good Technology and Nokia have already paid NTP for patent licenses.
