Eminem files suit against ringtone companies

Oct 05 2005 - 11:44 AM ET | Ringtones

Semi-retired rapper Marshall Mathers (known as Eminem) has filed suit against five companies that allegedly sell ringtones of his music without permission. Cellus USA, FanMobile, Nextones, MyPhoneFiles and MatrixM are all named in the suit which was filed in Detroit, Michigan.

Ringtones are a big business and Mr. Mathers' lawyer says the companies are making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year off of his music. The duo plan to also sue karaoke companies that haven't gotten the necessary copyright agreements.

This is what happens when rappers make too much money and then get greedy to make more. They don't deserve more.

Neh, I bet all those companies are secretly owned by him and this lawsuit is fake and he's just doing this for the publicity.

Funny you can bitch about the artist wanting to get paid but have no problem with the companies who are ripping him off. You are the one who needs to grow up.
