Nokia taking heat on design choices

Nokia's CEO Jorma Ollila was criticized by investors yesterday for the lack of nicely desiged clamshell handsets. Mr. Ollila countered that market share should prove that its design decisions are correct: bq. "Our market share last year of 33-34 percent is the best evidence that we are on the right track," Ollila told the annual shareholders meeting. Nokia has faced stiff competition from Motorola recently. Motorola's new focus on design (RAZR, SLVR, PEBL) has added to the case against Nokia. Nokia yesterday introduced the 8800, a slide style phone designed to be fashionable.
