Today, April 22nd, is Earth day. There's no better time to dig out that old mobile phone that you no longer use and give it to a recycling company. There are several organizations that make it simple: * RecycleMyCellphone.org * Collective Good * WirelessRecycling.com Depending on the group, you can choose a method (mail, local drop-off) and sometimes even what your phone will be used for. Older GSM phones can be put to great use, especially in disaster stricken areas like Indonesia. To read more on recycling a mobile phone, read Eric Lin's article about the topic over at PhoneScoop.
