Sprint Nextel offers LBS for business

Sprint Nextel today announced a location based services initiave aimed at business owners that want to keep track of their employees. Dubbed Sprint Precision Locator, the service offers real-time tracking based on the position of Sprint Nextel handsets (currently only CDMA, iDEN handsets already had a similar feature).

Here is some of what Sprint Precision Locator can do:

• Map workers or groups
• Set schedules and check to see if everyone is where they should be
• Create landmarks and track if an employee leaves or enters established landmarks (such as the office)
