More information has come out about the Motorola ROKR (which is expected to be formally announced on Wednesday). T-Mobile Germany and O2 in the UK are both expected to carry the phone, in addition to Cingular Wireless in the US. The ROKR is expected to be the first phone to ship with Apple's iTunes software on board. Additionally, it will be the first device authorized to play files purchased from the iTunes music store other than the iPod.
Apple rumor site ThinkSecret believes the phone will come in two versions, one with 256MB of memory and one with 512MB. This is more than original reports suggested, even the business magazine Forbes stated recently that the phone would only be able to hold 25 songs. The ThinkSecret report also notes that Cingular subscribers will be able to purchase songs over-the-air, this is the first we've heard of that.
MobileTracker will bring you live shots of the ROKR on the day of its announcement.
The ROKR is planned to be an entire line of music phones. The first phone, the ROKR E1 is based upon an existing Motorola design. More details to come on the 7th of September.
I really hope it's not that E1. Looks just like an e398!
I am really looking forward to seeing what Motorola has under their sleeve. It's time for the RAZR to be replaced, about a year old now.
I bet it looks a lot like the RAZR.

I am just happy we're finally going to have a hip phone in the US at the same time as everyone else. Typically Europe gets em about 6 months before us, if they even come here at all.
