ROKR E2Motorola's second revision of the ROKR phone has been approved by the FCC. Interestingly one of the documents posted on the FCC's website hints that the ROKR E2 may sport iTunes afterall. When it was announced, Motorola said the E2 had its own music player by default but that there would be support for multiple players (presumtively based on carrier wishes).

Features of the Motorola ROKR E2 include:

  • QVGA display
  • SD card slot
  • Runs Motorola's new Linux bases OS
  • Bluetooth
  • 1.3 megapixel camera

The E2 is expected to ship later in the second quarter. No carrier partners have been announced.

If it's headed to Cingular (which I would bet it is) then iTunes would probably be a carrier-chosen media player, given Cingular's current "iTunes + Cingular" campaign.

Actually Ricky its been reported that it will have its own music software because of an Apple and Motorola disagreement. It seems that it will have a radio type software where users make their own "playlist/station" of streaming music. To be honest the whole E series to me seems like a whole bunch of crap. I don't reccomend it to anyone unless they're looking for a hassle with confusing menus.
