Sprint has officially launched SIRIUS Satellite Radio music channels across its multimedia phones. There are 20 commercial-free music channels, plus a channel devoted to exclusive artist interviews and performances. The channels include: Hip Hop/R&B, Rock and Country to Jazz, Blues, Broadway, Electronic and Dance.
Unlimited access to the service costs $6.95 per month. To sign-up, go to channel 23 in the Sprint Media Player. This is available only to phones that can handle media streaming.
Pretty good idea, but I would want the talk stations. At least then I know what I am getting, instead of some DJ picking the music for me.
But I agree with Mark, this could really kill the battery life. Always having your data connection on.
I wonder if nextel custmors will get a peace of that?
I went to the sprint store and set this up on a Samsung A900 phone they had on display. Its pretty cool listening to the muzak from your phone, however, the service claimed to only cost 5.95 a month right on the phone.
I wonder what the battery life is like while playing this content... Could be nicer than having a music playing phone if the music selection is nice. But I bet it kills teh battery.
