US Courts will allow radiation safety suits

In a blow to cell phone manufacturers and carriers, the U.S. Supreme Court announced it would not hear an appeal concerning the legality of class action lawsuits arguing that the phone makers have known and hidden health risks.

The debate of whether or not mobile phones cause any health risks has gone on for years and has not reached a definitive conclusion. Every few months a new study is released that points one way, only to be rebuffed by more research a few months later.

Because of today's ruling, five existing lawsuits will continue. One of the cases will go to federal court while the four others will stay state matters.
