I have the Sony Ericsson Z520a, and I love it!! The only thing I do not like is the camera button on the outside of the phone. Other than that THUMBS UP!!!!

i have had some problems

i have this black dot when in camera mode and sometimes it will be there and majicly another one will pop up and then go away later..

and the picture quialty sucks. iknow that no camera phone has a good camera but this just takes the cake

Junk have to reset it all the time will not ring and you miss incoming calls if on vibrate you answer and nothing happens unless you put it on speaker I will be on my third one tomorrow if I stay with this model. Sony say's they will fix the problem if I send it to them and be without a phone for a week. My thirty days are running out at the Cingular store and they say that's to bad the store is in Murray Ky

listen i dont have this phone yet but i cant say shit about it.it seems cool but im not really sure.AND does any1 know how much this phone ill coast without a plan!!!!????

This small, light and loaded phone is a knockout when it works. However, it does all kinds of weir things from time to time if you don't reboot it everyday if you are a heavy user. I am on my 3rd replacement and trying out now. Check out the official Cingular website (www.forums.cingular.com) on complaints on this phone. If Cingular/Sony can have the problems fixed, it will be a great phone. It is right now being pulled off from shelves because of the problems reported on the site.

I was so excited about this phone. I payed cash for it and signed up for the pay as you go plan. It has worked great for about 1 month. Now it wont ring at all. Once I master reset it and it came back to life. Now 3 weeks later it is back to not ringing again. This was my first phone with cingular.

This phone is a nice additive to my collection of electonics at home, it connects to my computer and anyhting else that has Bluetooth or Infrared. This phone has really made my life easier and it is very affordable. Thank you Cingular

this phone looks cool but some people are compaining about the camers button on the side.im thinking if i should get the z520a or the razr.if anyone has this phone please tell me if the camera button is really that bad or people are just being picky!

The original z520 that came out for cingular had bad firmware installed onto it which is most likely causing the vast majority of complaints I've read about it. I have the z520 with the new firmware on it(any purchased near the end of february and on should have it) and I can't say I've had any problems with it. It IS an amazing phone - and for those who are in a tossup between this and a Moto 557 or Razr... go with this. I've played with the Moto's (owned a 557 actually)... This is better by a longshot.

A note on the camera for those who care: No, it is not high res, but it DOES feature night shot mode which I found to be pretty neat.

I have had quite a few problems with my phone some times it vibrates when it should be ringing, the screen sometimes whites out (like a TV with no signal). at times it will reset it's self to factory settings I will have to turn it off and back on and then it will work fine, drops calls quite often. so far not very satisfied, had it for 3 months

I just got this phone and every other time I make a call I hear a static noise even when all of the signal bars are up. It is driving me crazy... I am just wondering if anyone else has had that problem... I am going to get another one sent out.

KEEP MOVING ON AND FIND ANOTHER PHONE, THIS ONE IS JUNK! it doesn't ring when it is supposeD to, the screen goes blank at random times and then it dies and you have to power it back on. I called cingular and they said they haven't heard of any problems(yeah right! Just check out the web and all the complaints). They sent me a new phone, so now it rings and goes blank only half as much as it used to. Cingular customer service sucks as well as the phone!

There is a known "memory leak" issue on phones shipped before Jan 2006 but as long as you get the latest update, this is a great midrange cell phone.

If you go to the Thread below on the Cingular web site it explains that you can "swap" your phone for a new one.

My friend Bre has the phone and lets me borrow it I love it it has every feature in the world and video! There is not a better phone i read the reviews and if the phone is having problems stop dropping or breaking it there not meant to be damaged Bre has hers for prepaid and it was 220 dollars never had a problem with it and she drops it frequently it does take a minute to work when you turn it on But me and her love it!

This phone sucks, i bought it just last Dec. from cingular and already had problems with the "down" and left button not working. to top it off, the phone wont power up anymore. Junk! dont buy

i have had problems with this phone too! my speakers doesn't work unless it is on speakerphone (sometimes)! other than that its awesome!

I like the phone but the camera button is driving me mad I hope I can get this fixed by Sony or I will open up the phone and disable the button my self. The camera turns on in my pocket and takes pictures of my pocket. I noticed from messing around with the phone you don’t have to touch the button to get the paparazzi camera to go live and start taking snapshots. Ahhh NO GAMES ON THIS PHONE you need to buy them if you like to play something while waiting at the airport.

The camera ia driving me crazy. It is always taking pictures while in my phone holster. I just deleted 57 pictures I didn't take. There is no "Delete All" button. You have to delete each picture one at a time.I wish there was a disable camera button. I can't read the screen outside in the sun light. It is confusing to use.

I left the dark ages of ground lines about 5 weeks ago and this is my first phone. The camera button location is really awfull. Ditto on Tim's comments and everyone else who described pictures of the inside of their holsters or pant pockets. Because the cingular 30 day trial is over, I'm sending it back to the manufacturer for replacement. DONT GET THIS PHONE.

This phone is nice except for one important thing, even if it is fully charged, it will shut off for no reason. Once you power it back on, it can and often does shut off over and over and over and over and over and over and over...........you get the point. I want to have Cingular replace it but as I can see, that doesn't look like much of an option either. What are we to do? Bend over and grab our ankles.

My wife and I have had this phone for several months, and as many have said, the fact that we continuously takes pictures of you pocket/car window/any unsuspecting image, we are tired of hearing the "click" sound of the camera going off, when we do not want to take a picture.....We were with SPRINT before, and have noticed a great increase in coverage, but a vast increase in the # of dropped calls, and poor quality of connections. Overall, we are satifeied, but that is all. If you get annoyed by "little" things, do not get phone......

r u guys kiding me!! this phone rocks...for a phone the pictures are good, and i have yet to take 1 picture of the pocket or holestres or w/e...holister is gay anyways...for guys. I have had this phone for 5 months. I had the common problem of pictures of my pockets, but that was about it until a few days ago. Now the phone locks up and the screen goes blank. I have to take out the battery and wait about ten minutes to power it back up again. Cingular is sending me a new one...and have told me that the new phone has been updated so it should not drop calls as often

My phone also shuts off for no reason, so I called and they're sending me a refurbished phone. Who knows if that one will work.

I absolutely hate this phone, cumbersome non intuative navigation and the external camera button that keeps taking pictures of the inside of my pocket is getting very annoying. The keypad is nothing short of horrible for someone with large digits. It isn't very easy to open, and I really hate the idea of not having dedicated send and end keys, softkeys suck.

i have this phone and is relativelly good but i had to took off the camera buttob because the clicks weare driving me crazy in my classes, i recommend to buy another phone

Had the phone for about 4 months. Every now and then the screen blanks to white or black(mostly black) and the phone is dead. The screen on the front of the phone gives no clue that it is dead, still displays clock. After hours of no calls I check the phone and sure enough, I have to pull the battery out and re-install it. Thoughts?
