Patent office rejects another NTP patent

Dec 16 2005 - 02:32 PM ET | Backpage, Research In Motion

In what's becoming almost routine, the US Patent Office has ruled once again that a patent held by NTP isn't valid. This is the second review of the patent and the verdict has been the same both times. However, NTP is still attempting to use this patent to force an injunction against Research In Motion to halt BlackBerry sales.

Even with the strong possibilty that all patents used against RIM will be voided, the judge in NTP's patent infringement lawsuit is unwilling to wait for the patent office to rule.
