According to The Wall Stree Journal noted [sub required], InterDigital will receive $250 million from Nokia after a US federal judge backed up a prior arbitration award. The original dispute was over royalties that Nokia allegedly did not pay to InterDigital.

"While this court does not necessarily agree with every finding of the panel, there is nothing so aberrant about the award to require vacatur," Judge Pauley said in his order. "This court confirms the award in its entirety."

The payment will cover handsets sold through 2006.
