CES 2006 - Google co-founder Larry Page yesterday introduced pay-for-download videos on Google Video. The company introduced a new software application dubbed Google Video Player as part of the launch. While not mentioned in Mr. Page's speech, Google has also teamed up with DivX to be able to distribute videos to mobile devices:

"Google and DivX can work together in the connected home to give consumers, content providers and consumer electronics manufacturers the freedom to move content across secure devices and platforms which are affordable, easy to use, and provide for greater access to richer, more meaningful digital media." - Jordan Greenhall, co-founder and chief executive officer of DivX Inc.
