Google researchers let it slip that adult content is the most popular topic for mobile Google searches. Porn made up a full 20% of searches from cellphones, compared to 8.5% from desktops. The figures were pulled out of a 1 million search dataset.
Google is betting that mobile searches will become a larger part of its business in the very near future and has even partnered with Motorola to have a Google button on select handsets. Some of the first phones from that partnership should begin shipping soon. Motorola has a new policy of announcing phones as they are ready to ship, so we aren't getting the usual 6+ month inside look.
