Sony Ericsson K800i and K790 announced

Sony Ericsson K800iBringing another Sony brand into the cellphone market, Sony Ericsson today unveiled the Cyber-shot branded K800i and K790. Specs and photos of the K800i leaked earlier this month, but the company made the official announcement this morning. The difference between the two models is simply radio tech--the K800i is a dual-band with UMTS while the K790 is a tri-band with EDGE. The K790 will come in world (K790i) and American (K790a) versions.

Features of the K800i/K790 include:

  • 3.2 Mega pixel with Auto Focus Camera
  • Xenon flash and BestPic technology
  • 2.0” QVGA 262K TFT display
  • 64 MB internal memory plus Memory Stick Micro slot
  • Music Player (MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ support)
  • Bluetooth
  • HTML/RSS browser
  • K800i features VGA camera for video calls

Both models will begin shipping in the second quarter of this year.
